Lieu Issue 2 - Departure, was edited by Holly Willson and Huni Mancini. Between Tāmaki Makaurau and Naarm, where they respectively reside, an exchange has taken place over the course of 2019. Departure as a theme, is an opportunity for us to think about leaving, staying, and how that looks from above or afar.

Holly Willson (Pākehā) is an artist and writer based in Naarm (at the time of this publish date). Holly grew up in Tāmaki Makaurau and studied at Elam School Of Fine Arts from 2003-2007. Holly is returning to live and study in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa in December 2019.

Huni Mancini is an archivist and creative based in Tāmaki Makaurau. She currently works at The Archive of Māori and Pacific Sound and is a member of artist-run space RM Gallery. Her heritage is Tongan (Mu’a, Niuatoputapu) and Italian (Monti, Grillara).

We would like to express deep thanks to all the Lieu 2 contributors for sharing their work, and the many exchanges and conversations that have helped us to complete this issue. Thank you to all our friends and family, without their support this project would not be possible.
